WORKPLAN | 2015 September
Goals and expectations for the first semester of 2015/2016
My first and main goal for this semester is to adjust and learn to feel comfortable in the new environment.
To figure out a productive way to use my individual classes in the sense of discovering what my body and mind need and in what order and length.
I definitely feel that I should work on my creative thinking and learn to get out of the box more.
In technical point of view I think that I do not really have a problem with memory and order of steps and combinations, but I want to try to be more comfortable in them and add my own style and feel to the fixed steps.
I don't really know what to expect from the theory classes, so I do not know what my goals in that field would be.
However I am really interested in the field of dance research, so hopefully that will be something I will try to get into a bit deeper in this semester.
In general I think that this semester will be stressful and intense and my greatest goal as I said at the beginning is to adjust and feel comfortable, but in the sense of enjoying the new challenges instead of backing down and feeling afraid of them which I think is a very important part of life for any person in any profession and a crucial part of the life of an artist.
SUMMARY | 2015 December
This has been a very, I would say not difficult, but different few months for me. I had to get used to a lot of diverse approaches to movement and the idea of movement, while also adjusting to a new group of people, new city and living by myself.
I think I started the year with a lot of energy which got really spent during this months, especially during my injury. I know that it was a good idea to watch the classes and do parts of them as much as I was able to but it definitely put me in a bad psychological place.
I think that I had an improvement in the technical classes. I rarely have a problem with catching the phrase and movement sequence, but now I was trying to be more aware of my body and the different qualities it is able to produce. I definitely enjoyed all of the classes, although they are all very different in style and approach. I think sometimes I am too hard on myself and I get angry at myself for not being able to do something. I am trying to change this and be able to accept my flaws.
About the other aspect of this school, or HB projects I would absolutely say: unsuccessful. Making a creation is very difficult for me, but also the thing is that I don't want to do it. I don't have choreographing aspirations in this moment.
About Csaba's choreography I absolutely understood why he didn't choose me once I saw the performance. Although I think it was a very good performance and I enjoyed it very much I can't see myself doing something like this.
TEACHERS' EVALUATIONS | 2015 December
Lőrinc Katalin: you’ve had unfortunate body-problems, that made it very difficult for you for a while, but they could never really stop you…. You have a tremendous will power, you are very demanding towards yourself, and fortunately very intelligent too. So you really worked out a way for yourself, how to work a body with „some” injured parts, – excellent! I think, You could also become a doctor…
Besides you have a relatively fortunate, well proportioned and flexible enough body, and you are very, very open to all you hear and see in my class. You take in every information, you are always awake, and you always work on yourself. So, when you’ll be completely over and done with your injury, – you can throw in some „crazy”, daring energy, in order to get more freedom and punch in your dancing!
Hód Adrienn: unfortunately your injury has stopped the happening /improve, so I saw you dancing for a few times. I hope next time you can participate more.
Marco Torrice: really sofisticated mind, which reflected as well her approach to the class.
She is a really rigorous and detailed dancer but sometime this approach, obstructed her to trust more the natural potential of the body structure.
In the last period I could observe an improvement in the way she used her body weight in order to move, as well as a more playful presence and use of the facial expression.
I would encourage her to focus more on how one movement goes in to next, to not consider movements as separates units, and to approach this focus more as a sensation to be awaken, then a task to be executed.
