WORKPLAN | 2022/23 1st Period

My short-term plans

CREATIVE PLAN | 2022/23 1st Period

In my solo, I’m going to show a man who lives a normal life, but at one point he starts hearing a constant noise in his head, but the audience won’t hear anything, it’s my job to show the noise, to explain it. In the beginning, the noise in the head will have a great impact on the person, so the dance will be fast dynamic, sharp, as at first the noise is very difficult. But then, with each time, the person will become more and more used to noise and it will reflect on the dance, each time the movement will be more and more calm, plastic, not so rough – so I want to show that the person for whom the noise was initially unbearable, over time, he as always got used to it.

SUMMARY | 2022/23 1st Period

Creative work:

TEACHERS’ EVALUATIONS | 2022/23 1st Period

Bakó Tamás – contemporary dance

I appreciated your attitude and the work you did in the classes. You were committed and motivated throughout the period but I also perceived that from time to time you got tired and had less energy to work. The nature and logic of the material of this class in some ways are new to you. But as a person who has a long history with dance, you have many tools to relate to them. And you are approaching not only from prior knowledge and dance experiences but as well from the wish and curiosity to learn something new, broadening your perspective on dance and exploring your physical and artistic potential further. You are very good at reading and capturing material. From the point of view of movement, form, coordination and spatial orientation you are well organized. I see experience and agility in those areas.

What I would encourage in the coming period for you is to observe further:
– structure, like releasing into the length of the body and breathing through the body,
– groundedness and use of weight to support momentum.

Around the last weeks I saw new qualities appearing. It feels that you are becoming more confident and composed in this material. Try to investigate where and how these changes have been formed and what is there to learn from it. Well done, keep on going!

Furulyás Dóra – improvisation

General notes to the group:

Generally it was very joyful working with you as a group. I enjoyed each of the classes, I felt that we understood each other, we were available and responsive to work and develop understanding the different states with which we were facing each class as human beings. You are taking care of yourselves and each other, and you are open to your peers and to me. This was a great environment in which we could together start a journey of navigating in improvisative dances, situations using the space around us.

Personal notes:

You were making great progress throughout the first period during the improvisation classes. In the beginning of the period your movement was more relying on repeating forms that were comfortably and securely known by you and your body. As we went more into the period, your movements became more and more complex and I could see new forms and directions in your dance. In your case it was very visible how things learned and experienced in the other classes were incorporated in your dance. I must mention how much more comfortable you became with using the floor! That’s great! Keep on going with patience and curiosity and try to stay open to getting inspired to dance from literally anything that you experience.

Kulcsár Vajda Enikő – Body

General notes to the group:

– Nice, concentrated presence on the classes. The qualities of the movements and the appropriate amount of power/ isolation is developing, you are on the right way!

Újvári Milán – Body work

I’m happy that you could stay and start this school with the group. I think you have potentials and you are working on a fairly good level. You have to get more strength so please ask me what kind of protocols you should practice in oreder to be more strong. I’m interested to get to know you more.

Kováts Tibor – Ballet

General notes to the group:

Ennek egyik lehetséges megoldása a tudásmegosztásban rejlő lehetőségek. A csoport minden tagjával egyéni konzultációt szeretnék tartani a pedagógusi összefoglaló kiegészítése, árnyalása érdekében. Ezzel kapcsolatban kérek időpontokat mindenkitől! Késő délután, este, lenne nekem jó. Köszönöm !?

Personal notes:

Dear Anastasya!! It’s my great pleasure to teach you! You are the most skilled in classical ballet in the whole group. I know that class is often very boring for you, because it’s about topics that you already most of you know. Therefore, you can help me and your students friends a lot, if we share ,what you know and they can see how to do it right! Please be my partner in this!? You are a wonderful ballerina, but I can help you to get better, if you want too! I see a lot of things you could improve on. For example such as the pirouettes, en dehors and en dedans. And many small things in the arm work or in the leg or foot work, or in the jumping exercises. If you want, let’s talk about these in person! ? I hope you trust my knowledge!?

WORKPLAN | 2022/23 2nd Period

My short-term plans

HOUSE AND FOLK:

My long-term plans

Creative work:

SUMMARY | 2022/23 2nd Period

TEACHERS’ EVALUATIONS | 2022/23 2nd Period

Angelus Iván – Improvisation, composition, creative work

General notes to the group:
Dear BCDA Contemporary Dance BA Group!

I was tasked to trigger a process that revelates for the participants the complexity of dance creation.

We created movement materials, and recognised consciously their place and direction in space, their tempo and rhythm, and their dynamics as well. I encouraged the group members to create sequences that contain a proportional diversity of spatial, temporal, dynamic contrasts. We realised that all moves, all movement sequences have an abstract and a gestural reading, that can be interpreted as a dramaturgy as well.

After selecting the best individual solutions we improved the quality of them mainly by accenting the existing oppositions and making all aspects more articulated. Sometimes we replaced parts or whole sequences with better ones. Quality overwrote the importance of property.

We payed attention to the importance of left and right inside the movement and on the stage as a consequence of left to right writing in our culture.

After every participant have had a clarified own motive we could go on improving them by changing – slowing down 2 or 4 times and speeding up a max 5 % – the tempo. We learned that the song’s tempo is around 136 bpm that harmonises or not with our “natural feeling” of slow, medium and quick that we documented in a table previously.
The other improvement method was teaching the motive to the others, that made inescapable to understand in depths all aspects of the short sequences.

The process of creation is reflected in the process of the piece (darab, stück) and in the perception of the audience as well.

The process helped everybody in finding different roles in the creative process, showed us what are we strong in, what we need to develop in, and in what we must ask for help.

The process was different from my previous ones. It was not easier, but it was more conscious, and much more efficient as a consequence.

It became quite obvious that the process, the method determines the outcome. The result is a print of the process. The character of the piece is a consequence of the method.

The main challenge is to find the important and the secondary little things that result a consistent whole in the artist and in the audience.

I know, this is rather a summary than a feedback, but I think you can „compare” your results to the program I proposed better than I could.
I still will try to add personal feed back and will be open for dialogues.

Happy New Year

A minőség felülírta a tulajdon fontosságát.
A mű jellege a módszer következménye.

General notes to the group:
Dear All! In this period we were working on repeating the same tasks and thereby we had the chance to observe how we are changing when the task doesn’t. We had a fix warming up process led by couple work. I can reflect on your work on what I saw and could observe from the outside. However I think that it is just complementing you personal expriences. Generally I: I found that the group was more tired and exhausted, and often people were missing. Generally II: once we started the class and got engaged with the tasks, dance and movement everyone got involved and gave chance to understand their own movement patterns and everyday relation to dance.
Personal notes:
Unfortunatley we have only met in 2 of the classes so I don’t think it I can give you any usefeul feedback.
Fülöp László – Improvisation, composition, creative work
General notes to the group:
First of all I’m gonna try to write about how you are working as a group, and in English – so if I would fail in clarity, sorry for that, but you are always welcome to ask about anything in person if something was left uncertain or unclear. I’ve liked working with you, I think you all truely support each ohers, and that’s super important for your future developpement (!) , even though you are on so many different levels related to your knowlege and abilities but you can help, teach and learn from each others a lot. Don’t be shy to give feedbacks because that’s a real aid to reach your full potencial. There is a lot of potencial in you as a group, more than what you could just imagine now. Support and help, you are all gifted and have to fulfill your roles and potencials in building the future. Thank you for your work and keep it going on, sharp on point, never give up, don’t forget, you form the future, you are the current potencial of the future.
Personal notes:
You were rarely present at my classes so I can’t give a true feedback at this moment, sorry. I wish all the best to you, keep going on!
Péter Petra – Dance Studies
General notes to the group:
Mindenki felkészült a szövegolvasással. Overall, there was focused group work throughout the intensive 3 days. Everyone was prepared with the reading of the texts. To varying degrees, depending on individual skills, effort, will, previous patterns, confidence, etc., but also class participation was essentially characterised by active attention and participation. Several of you asked me how I saw the group work: basically balanced, with only Máté’s presence and inactivity standing out. So, according to my plans, we were able to do what I had planned: both in terms of the curriculum and in terms of the different ways in which we expressed ourselves.
Personal notes:
Asya, you and Emesa did a very nice job on the presentation, it was a real team effort! You are articulate and well understood, although you tend to speak a bit fast. Make sure the audience can follow you. You had a quietly attentive presence in class, when it was your turn, you could always pick up the thread and move on, formulate an opinion. I am sorry you did not send feedback.
Farkas Kámea – House&Folk
Kedves Anastasya! Ehhez bármikor fordulhatsz hozzám is segítségért!
